Important Updates:

Return to Hybrid Learning begins January 25th for Cohort A and January 28th for Cohort B.

Dear Weston Families,

As many of you are aware, we are returning to hybrid learning on Monday January 25th for Cohort A and Thursday, January 28th for Cohort B.

With that being said, we are going to take this time to organize and plan for a smooth transition back to school. Here is what we need from you:

* If your child will be returning to his/hers original cohort, you DO NOT need to respond. We will just pick up where we left off.

PROCEDURE FOR A CHANGE OF PLACEMENT REQUEST * LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE

* If your child was previously a Remote only student and you would like to request to switch to the Hybrid model, please reach out to our office via email losborne@mansd.org (Please indicate your child’s mode of transportation to and from school. )

* IMPORTANT: Requests for change in placement is not guaranteed until you hear confirmation from Weston. NO STUDENT IS TO CHANGE THEIR PLACEMENT WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE OFFICE. WE HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF OPEN SPACES AT EACH GRADE THAT WE WILL FILL. Students should continue their remote attendance until notified

ALL NEW REQUEST FOR CHANGES MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY, JANUARY 22ND. WE WILL CONTACT YOU WHEN YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN MAY BEGIN HYBRID LEARNING AND JOIN A COHORT AND WHICH COHORT THEY WILL BE ASSIGNED TO.

Transportation Changes for students requesting hybrid:

If your child has not already been assigned to a bus this school year and you would like to request this, please reach out to our office. losborne@mansd.org

Please note: Rostering students to a bus is a lengthy process especially with the Covid precautions that need to be taken to ensure safety. If you are newly requesting a bus, it will take some time and may not be available immediately.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this process.

Stay tuned for more information!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Mac

Remote learning will continue for children on the days they are not attending school as part of Cohort A or Cohort B and for Remote Only students.

Suggestions to help your child with remote learning:

  • Please make sure they are on time for all Google Meets throughout the day (including Unified Arts)

  • If you are not able to remind your child to join each Google Meet, then teach them to use a timer or clock to remind them when it is time to log back on. (A device such as, Alexa, works too.)

  • Remind them to complete all independent assignments and turn them in. They might need to attach the assignment on Google Classroom or take a picture of the completed assignment and send it to Classtag.

Thank you for your cooperation at home. The home-school connection is a very important one.

School Forms

School forms: Families must fill out forms for each student. These are forms you would usually fill out at the start of a school year.

This year, all forms are available online. Forms are at www.mansd.org/for-families/forms-2020-2021.

Weston - Summer Reading Program 2020

This summer we want our students to stay connected to reading and to Weston. It is important to choose books that you enjoy reading. There are so many different places that we can read. We have decided that we will use a BINGO sheet for recording reading experiences. This should be a fun, relaxing way to continue to read for enjoyment.

We have also included a listing of "Suggested Books" if you need ideas for your children. These books can be borrowed from the Manchester Public Library.

Mrs. Mac will have copies of this sheet available for students when they visit Weston to pick up their belongings.

Simply check off one of the boxes for the times when you sit back, relax and read a great book, poem or magazine! Return the sheet to Mrs. Brun in the Library when we return to school. Please remember to relax and have fun reading this summer!

To access the links below, you will need to be signed onto your school email account.

Weston Summer Reading Bingo 2020

Students must be 5 years old by SEPTEMBER 30th in order to register for kindergarten. Your child will also need to have a complete physical exam, or an appointment to have one, before starting school.
